The area around Kokelv is surrounded by fjords, mountains and many fishing lakes and is an excellent starting point for northern lights safaris on snowmobiles. Most good areas to see the northern lights are easily accessible from the village and are only a stone's throw away.

When you are surrounded by only the nature around you without any kind of artificial light, the northern lights will appear even more clearly in the sky.
